Background: Oberoi International School (OIS), one of Mumbai’s premier IB schools, is renowned for its academic excellence, modern infrastructure, and student-centered approach. Effective communication, both internal and external, is vital to upholding the school’s reputation and reinforcing its values. OIS required a strategic communication design initiative to ensure every interaction—whether within the school premises or with prospective families—resonated with its ethos.

The Challenge OIS sought to achieve the following: 

1. Internal Communication: Foster a cohesive school environment with clear and engaging communication for students, parents, and staff. 

2. External Communication: Create materials that captured the school’s essence and appealed to prospective families and the broader community. 

3. Event Branding: Design communication materials for key events like the annual day and graduation ceremony that reflected the school’s core values and celebratory spirit.

The Solution: A comprehensive communication design strategy was developed to address these objectives while seamlessly integrating OIS’s core values. 

  • Internal Communication Design: Environmental signage, including cafeteria displays, was created to inspire and guide students while reflecting the school’s principles. Messages were designed to be visually engaging, easily understandable, and aligned with the school’s identity. 

  • Event Collateral: Materials for events such as the annual day and graduation ceremony were designed to embody the celebratory and aspirational nature of these milestones. 

  • Yearbook Design: Each year, a new yearbook committee was formed to oversee the process. The agency worked cohesively with this committee, introducing a fresh theme annually while adhering to OIS’s brand guidelines. This ensured a balance between creativity and consistency, binding the yearbook seamlessly within the school’s communication framework. The result was a cherished keepsake that reflected the memories, milestones, and achievements of the academic year. 

  • Admissions Prospectus: A standalone piece of communication, the yearly admissions prospectus was crafted with an emphasis on storytelling. It highlighted the school’s offerings, facilities, and values, targeting prospective families with a polished and visually captivating presentation. This document served as a key touchpoint in conveying the OIS experience to the external audience.
